Bio
Jimmy Carroll grew up in Maple Glen, PA, a small town outside of Philadelphia. When Jimmy was eight, his father took him to see Bill Cosby perform at the Temple Music Fair. He watched Cosby captivate the audience with only a stool and a microphone. From that moment on he knew he wanted to be a stand-up comedian.
In 1984, Jimmy was the winner of the "Funniest College Student Contest" held at The Comedy Works in Philadelphia. He later went on to take first place in "The Second Annual Comedy Showdown" held at the Comedy Stop at The Tropicana in Atlantic City.
Since that time he has gone on to perform in comedy clubs across the country. These clubs include Funny Bones, Catch A Rising Star, The Improv's, Ice House, Comedy Stop, and numerous clubs in between.
Jimmy has also opened for such names as Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O'Donnell, Jeff Foxworthy, The Unknown Comic, Carol Leifer, Nin Simone, David Beinot, Spyro Gyro, Todd Rundgren, and many more.
Jimmy's television appearances include A&E's "Evening At The Improv", Comedy Central's "Stand Up And Deliver", ESPN II, Prism, Rascal's Comedy Hour, and more.
He also has recently performed on the world renowned cruise liner "The Royal Caribbean", as well as spending 5 weeks doing his stand-up for Atlantic City's "Showboat -Hotel and Casino".
Entertaining the troops is also on the long list of Jimmy's agenda. He has performed for troops in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, Guam, The Philippines, and Hawaii.
